Project Description
Project Description: The work is located on top of the existing Mississippi River levee in Plaquemines Parish, from Oak Point to Augusta, Louisiana. The project is a part of the Resilient Features West bank and Vicinity (WBV), hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction System (HSDRRS). It provides risk reduction from riverside flood events and from a hurricane event that has a 1% chance of occurring each year.
The West Bank & Vicinity (WNV) project is defined as the risk reduction features on the west bank of the Mississippi River in St. Charles, Jefferson, Orleans and Plaquemines parishes. Construction of the West Bank & Vicinity project starts at the Mississippi River Levee in Ama in St. Charles Parish and ends at the Mississippi River levee in Oakville in Plaquemines Parish.
The location of the project and the limits of the work to be done are shown in the attached aerial photos and Contract Plan Documents G-02. The work shall comply with the specifications provide in the contract documents
The work located on the Mississippi River Levee, starting at Oak Point to Augusta in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, to be done by HDB consists of but is not limited to, furnishing all equipment, material and labor required to perform all operations necessary for demolition of all concrete slope paving, curbing, asphalt, chain link fencing, levee degradation, asphalt road and all items shown on the drawings to be demolished.
